Independent Gym Membership - Perfect for those individuals that want a little guidance and distant supervision by working out in a safe, judgment free environment. These members receive a personalized exercise prescription and communication with healthcare providers as necessary. Contact us for pricing.
Medical Membership - This membership is best suited for those individuals that require guidance and supervision each time they come to the facility. Sessions are set up in a 1:4 Clinician to Member ratio 2x/week for 1 hour. Each member is guided safely through their own individual exercise program. Movement Group Exercise - For members that enjoy group class structure but want to make sure they stay safe, this option is perfect. Ideal for individuals with Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurological Conditions or fall risk. Every individual looking to join this program will undergo our unique Functional Movement Evaluation for placement into a class that is of appropriate level of difficulty to ensure they are challenged but remain safe and pain free. Teryn It UP! Strength Training - Want group exercise without getting hurt? This class is for you! This is a moderate to advanced strength training class. It allows time for cardio and balance as well. The bulk of the class will focus on core control and increased strength. There will be some discussion on proper form to avoid injury as well as any modifications that need to be made for any type of injury or chronic issue (i.e. arthritis). And it's SUPER FUN! Team Training Whether your sports team is large or small we can help your team move better to prevent injury, recover from injury and return to play quicker. We will evaluate your team and provide exercise prescription and follow up along with education on the importance of rest and recovery, nutrition, injuries, and the healing process, to name a few. Chris Pribish L-ATC, CSCS, CSAC
Chris graduated from the Canisius College Sports Medicine program in 2002 where he was an all-state collegiate rugby player for New York State. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified Speed and Agility Coach through Athletes Acceleration. Chris also holds his Functional Movement Screen Certification.
Since college, Chris worked in out-patient orthopedic rehabilitation for Saco Bay Physical Therapy for 8 years where he designed and executed rehabilitation protocols. During this time he also worked privately as a performance enhancement coach for athletes of all ages.
Recently, he has continued his passion for learning with concentration on the topics of nutrition, specifically following the research and talks of Dr. Robert Lustig and his colleagues. Other areas of study and course work have been through Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) and Z Health Performance. In 2014, Chris completed the Fascial Abrasion Technique Tool (F.A.T. Tool) Certification where he then went on to train the clinical trainers at UMedGym and began implementing the technique on his athletes and members, experiencing great improvements in flexibility and pain free movement.
Adam Hanrahan, L-ATC, CSAC
Clinical Exercise Manager
Adam graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2007 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine, Athletic Training. After college, he worked for Saco Bay Physical Therapy in their Windham clinic until 2013 when he joined the United Medical Gym. Adam is now currently the Clinical Exercise Manager for UMedGym South Portland where he has been able to design and implement a Movement Screen for those with neurological movement disorders. Adam has also recently received his Certification as a Speed and Agility Coach.
Adam enjoys spending his free time playing soccer, kickball, baseball/softball, mountain biking, and snowshoeing with his fiancée. Adam is engaged to Teryn Clark, another Athletic Trainer with UMedGym and they are getting married August 5th, 2016.
Matthew Marcoux, L-ATC, CSAC
Clinical Exercise Specialist and Internship Coordinator
Matt graduated from the University of New England in 2013 with his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training. In college, he was a varsity soccer player for three years while accumulating over 1500 clinical hours of study. He completed his clinical hours as an Intern with United Medical Gym in 2013. Shortly after college, Matt married his high school sweetheart, Cory, and began his professional Athletic Training career as a Clinical Exercise Instructor at United Medical Gym where he also began working as a Physical Therapist’s Aid for Saco Bay Physical Therapy in their South Portland location, assisting with patient orthopedic rehabilitation.
Along with performing evaluations and prescribing exercise to members of UMedGym, Matt also works offsite with elite athletes of Seacoast United Soccer conducting strength and conditioning and functional movement performance series for various age groups. In 2015, he was trained in the Fascial Abrasion Technique Tool (F.A.T. Tool) enabling him to further support his UMedGym members. Currently he is studying for his Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification and recently received his Certification as a Speed and Agility Coach. In addition to working at UMedGym, Matt works with a junior ice hockey team, the Maine Wild, during their regular season. Outside of work, hiking and a round or two of disc golf are his hobbies of choice.
Member Care Coordinator
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the State University of New York in Albany. Her passion is people and advocating for their well-being and needs, especially in regards to their self-care and mental health. She prides herself on bringing a high level of integrity, personal attention and interest with the utmost respect to every interaction, thereby building trust and confidence, enhancing each member's whole experience.
Outside of UMedGym, Amy is very busy raising her two girls, sharing life and it's experiences with them. Among many goals, she focuses on teaching them to appreciate and care for their health, bodies and well-being. She welcomes opportunities to become more mentally and physically fit...with workouts, long walks on the beach, gardening, tennis and many other outside activities. Amy appreciates and finds joy and inspiration in simple beauty, music, connection with people and lots of laughter. She still aspires to earn her master's degree in a psychology related field to further her ability to fill a greater role in helping others improve their mental health to have more holistically healthy lives.
