At UMedGym we believe exercise is medicine. You don't have to have a medical condition to join our facility. We offer various membership options including the following:
Independent Gym Member - Perfect for those indiviuals that want a little guidance and distant supervision by working out in a safe, judgment free environment. These members receive a personalized exercise prescription and communication with healthcare providers every 90 days. Contact us for pricing.
Medical Membership - This membership is best suited for those individuals that require guidance and supervision each time they come to the facility. Based upon your Initial Evalution, we will place you in one of our Small Group Exercise Levels 1-5 to ensure proper safety and individualization. Sessions are set up in an appropriate Clinician to member ratio 2x/week for 1 hour. Each member is guided safely through their own individual exercise program. Individualized 1:1 Training - All members have the option of accessing our highly educated clinicians for 1:1 training services. This can be done in conjunction with a membership or training services only. Contact us for pricing.
Family Memberships - We encourage exercise to be a family affair and understand it can be costly to pay for a membership for all your loved one's. All of our memberships and services are elgibile for family or group discounts. Please Contact Us for Family discounts and pricing.
We offer a variety of additional concierge services for our members or non-members.
PRO-Motion Lifestyle Performance Training - Located onsite are programs and services for athletes to maximize their performance and avoid injury. Services can be offered for individuals, small groups or teams. For more information please click HERE.
Parkinson's and LSVT BIG - LSVT BIG is a research-based exercise approach developed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease that focuses on specific training to increase the amplitude of limb and body movement to improve faster walking with bigger steps, improved balance, improved trunk rotation and improvements with activities of daily living. LSVT BIG treatment protocol can be delivered by a physical therapist. This protocol was developed specifically to address the unique movement impairments for people with Parkinson’s disease. Annetta Haddox, PT, MA - Owner
Annetta received her Physical Therapy degree in 1985 and a Master’s Degree in Counseling in 1995 both from West Virginia University. Her 30+-year career includes a variety of settings with a skill emphasis on manual therapy and extensive training in treatment of the spine. Annetta has developed programs for industry that include ergonomic assessments, post-hire/pre-placement, fit and return for duty evaluations and wellness/ prevention screenings. Additionally, she helps companies develop accurate job descriptions from which functional testing for early work return and work placement decisions can be made. She has served as the on-site physical therapist for the company formally known as E.I. Dupont in Front Royal, VA. Annetta is also certified by Isernhagen WorkWell Systems and DSI to perform Functional Capacity Evaluation, functional job descriptions and testing. In 2009 she was honored with the opportunity to be the guest speaker for the West Virginia University Physical Therapy Clinical Pathways Ceremony. In 2010 she received the “Sandy L. Burkart Outstanding Clinical Instructor Award” from West Virginia University. This award is named for an outstanding clinician and visionary for the profession of Physical Therapy. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 1983 with current section membership in Orthopedics and Private Practice and is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT). Unrelated to physical therapy, but keeping close to her biology degree and agriculture roots, she is a member of the Bee Keepers of the Northern Shenandoah. As the captain of the PRO Team (PRO PT, Promotion and UMedGym), Annetta challenges her colleagues to learn, grow and serve every day.
Jenny Williams, MS, ATC
Jenny received her Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University in 2005. She now serves as an Adjunct Professor at Shenandoah University teaching “Imaging in Athletic Training” within the graduate program. Jenny has served as an Athletic Trainer with high school athletes as well as within the private orthopedic setting.
Jenny brings her experience and skill to PRO Motion as the Director of the UMedGym facility. She enjoys recreational running, family time with her husband and daughter, and attending car shows with their antique vehicles. This West Virginia native also maintains her active enrollment as a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
Lydia Bracken, ACSM, CEP
Lydia Bracken first worked for P.R.O. Physical Therapy from 2006 to 2009 as a physical therapist aide. She completed her Associates of Arts and Sciences Degree in Liberal Arts at Lord Fairfax Community College in 2008 then transferred to James Madison University in the fall of 2009. Living there in Harrisonburg for four years she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise Science in May 2013. Following graduation, she relocated to just outside Charleston, South Carolina where she worked as a personal trainer first in a commercial gym setting and then for a private training studio until moving back to Virginia in October 2014. She rejoined P.R.O. upon her return in a different capacity in the front office with patient service working on scheduling, insurance and helping the therapists’ manage the paperwork side of their job. She has been a Certified Exercise Physiologist (formerly known as Certified Health Fitness Specialist) with the American College of Sports Medicine since 2013. She is also certified to perform Functional Movement Screens, having completed both the Level 1 and 2 training in 2015. She is excited to be helping in the development of PRO Motion and getting involved working with clients dealing with obesity and other health issues. Inspiring people to find passion for activity, health and fitness is her goal. Outside of work she enjoys being active and outdoors as much as possible, preferably with family and friends included. She has a husband and two young children all of whom she loves dearly.
Eoin McAteer, CSCS
Strength and conditioning coach in Winchester, VA for the last 5 years. I have been involved with the strength and conditioning industry, in some way, for over 12 years now. I had been a field athlete for 20+ years (17 of which being more of a serious athlete) and had always put thought into what I was doing, how
to replicate and teach it. My studies have enabled me to draw great attention to detail and focus on the value performance and training healthy.
I love to coach and have valued an athlete's performance above anything else in my tenure. Concepts integrating athletic execution and pre/rehabilitation appeal to every aspect of my passions. For almost 10 years now, I’ve participated in over two dozen Regional, National, and International certifications, seminars, workshops. Privileged to work under Olympic medalists and elite level athletes on Sports performance and Weightlifting as well as countless competitions.
My excitement for knowledge and its application is equal to my vehement for sport and its constant progression.
Larry Shipley, LPTA
Larry attended Shepherd University obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Fitness and Exercise Science in 2012. He then started working at PRO Physical therapy as a technician. While working at PRO he was also coaching high school football and providing strength and conditioning programs to numerous local high schools. Larry then obtained his Associate’s Degree to become a Physical Therapist Assistant from Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in 2015. Larry has been with PRO for over 3 years and is continuing to expand his knowledge with multiple certifications. LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!!
Lindsey Swaim, DPT, OCS
Lindsey graduated in 2006 from WVU with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology. She continued on at WVU to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010 and chose to return to her hometown of Winchester, VA to begin her career at PRO Physical Therapy. She proceeded to complete a residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy through Evidence in Motion and passed her Orthopedic Specialty Certification (OCS) in 2013. Lindsey is also certified in Level I Dry Needling and has completed a number of manual therapy continuing education courses and Selective Functional Movement Analysis (SFMA). She enjoys working with a variety of patient populations and diagnoses with emphasis on proper movement and form to help prevent future injury. She has maintained her membership of in the American Physical Therapy Association throughout her time as a PT.
John Hunt, DPT, LAT, ATC, CSCS
John is a native of Newport, VA where he played football, basketball and baseball through high school and baseball in college. His athletic career was shortened due to injuries and other health conditions. Following graduation from Ferrum College in 1994 he entered the business world where he was Vice President of Hunt Enterprises for 7 years. His continued desire to be around athletics and help athletes achieve goals that he was unable to led him back to graduate school. He graduated from Shenandoah University in 2004 and was the first graduate of the dual degree program, earning a Master’s of Science in Athletic Training and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He began his PT clinical career in general orthopedics before focusing on athletic injuries and physically active adults. In the afternoons/evenings her was the athletic trainer Giles High School. In 2007 he returned to Shenandoah University as a full time faculty member within the Division of Athletic Training, and has been at SU since that time. He’s served as the Clinical Education Coordinator since 2009. His research interest is Reducing Injury Risk in Baseball and he has ongoing studies in collegiate and professional baseball. During this time he has also continued to remain active in the PT clinic and high school setting. John is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and has worked with youth to college athletes over the past 10 years. He has recently joined Pro Motion/PRO Physical Therapy, located in Winchester, and will lead the Lifestyle and Sports Performance team.
Denise Massie, MS, ATC, DPT
Denise serves as a part-time Physical Therapist with P.R.O. Even though she does not see patients full time at P.R.O. she was and continues to be very instrumental in the building and continued growth of the company. She helps mentor our clinicians and serves as an esteemed resource for our educational development and advises on sports medicine programs. Denise received her Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Old Dominion University and a Physical Therapy degree from West Virginia University. She originally joined P.R.O. in 2001, completed her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from University of South Alabama in 2010, and then received a faculty appointment in Shenandoah University’s Athletic Training Program. In addition to her work at PRO and SU, Denise works as a sports medicine therapist for the women’s professional circuit of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), traveling to 3-4 tournaments each year providing care to athletes from all over the world.
Kyle Feldman, DPT
Kyle was born and raised in Howard County, Maryland. He graduated from Shenandoah University in 2011 after three years with a pre-physical therapy degree. He graduated from Shenandoah University again with a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2014. Kyle decided to stay in the beautiful city of Winchester to become a PRO team member where he completed a yearlong residency through UVA/Virginia Orthopedic Manual Therapy Institute (VOMPTI). During his time at SU he played slot receiver for the university and was named Academic All-American during his senior season. He has a burning passion for international development of physical therapy traveling to Haiti, Nicaragua, and Ghana to help practice and teach physical therapy. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, American Physical Therapy Association, and the Orthopedic Section of the APTA. He is currently the VPTA Blue Ridge District Communication Chair/Secretary and on the Alumni Board of Directors for Shenandoah University. His hobbies include football, working out, golf, hiking, and learning.
